JENNIFER STARR IS A CASTING DIRECTOR WHOSE ICONIC WORK AND DIRECTION HAS INFLUENCED THE GLOBAL FASHION AND BEAUTY INDUSTRY FOR OVER 20 YEARS.

Starr has launched the careers of many of the world's most successful models and has also been at the forefront of casting non-traditional beauties for the world's top advertisers and fashion brands. She has cast a variety of celebrity/influencer print and digital campaigns including H.E.R., Awkwafina, Hayley Kiyoko, Lizzo Beating, and Victory Boyd for Modcloth. Cleo Wade for White House Black Market. Scarlett Johansson, Hilary Swank, Rita Ora and Sky Ferrara for Calvin Klein, Adam Driver for THE GAP, Penelope Cruz, Naomi Watts, and Jennifer Lopez for Pirelli.

In addition, Starr has cast runway shows for many of today's top designers including Ralph Lauren, Jeremy Scott, Narciso Rodriguez, DKNY, Givenchy, Jill Sander, and Marc Jacobs, among others. She has cast some of the most well-known and recognized advertising campaigns in the world for Dolce and Gabbana, Abercrombie & Fitch, Calvin Klein, Gucci, H&M, Versace, Ralph Lauren and the Gap, to name just a select few. Starr was also a creative contributor and star of Bravo’s Make Me a Supermodel.

After studying political science at Oxford University and then graduating with a degree in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin, Starr moved to New York and immediately began her career working with award-winning photographer Bruce Weber. For five years she cast all of her mentor's shoots and advertising campaigns. She then decided to take a break from the fashion industry and moved to Costa Rica in pursuit of the surf lifestyle.

However, her break was short lived as a phone call from renowned photographer Richard Avedon persuaded her to return in search of the most beautiful faces and bodies in the world for the critically praised 1997 Pirelli "Women of the World" calendar. She then cast all subsequent 20 Pirelli Calendars to great acclaim. She has collaborated with the most illustrious directors as well as beauty and fashion photographers in the industry, including Annie Leibovitz, Steven Klein, Mario Sorrenti, Mario Testino,  Steven Meisel, Inez van Lamsweerde , Vinoodh Matadin, Mert Alas, Markus Piggott, Cass Bird, Mark Seliger,   Ryan Mcginley and Mark Romanaak. 

 With an unprecedented ability for finding fresh faces and new talent, Starr has always sought to expand the boundaries of beauty and its true meaning. Clients such as Levi’s, Calvin Klein, and The Gap often rely on Starr to discover new talent, makers and influencers,for their global campaigns. She discovered some of modeling's leading personalities and is constantly redefining the fashion industry's perception of beauty and diversity.
