GAP x LOVESHACKFANCY

For the Gap x LoveShackFancy capsule collection merging Gap’s iconic styles with LoveShackFancy’s vintage-inspired florals and feminine silhouettes Starr cast GRAMMY® Award-winning artist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, Ciara as the face of the campaign alongside two of her children, Future and Sienna.

Alongside Ciara and her children, the cast was rounded out with the next generation of changemakers, artists, and dancers all photographed by fashion photographer Zoey Grossman highlighting individual style and the power of confident femininity.

GAP x THE BROOKLYN CIRCUS

The campaign for Gap x The Brooklyn Circus highlights the brand’s unique perspective on fashion throughout American history – their blending of academia, music, Black culture and street style from the 1960s through today. The cast showcases the diversity of The Brooklyn Circus' Global Village captured beautifully by photographer John Midgley.

Starr cast beloved icon Stephen "tWitch" Boss, who was a longtime supporter of the BKc community, Ouigi's work and a core part of this campaign thanks to his personal friendship with BKc Founder and Creative Director Ouigi Theodore. Also featured are Joy Oladokun, American singer-songwriter, creating music influenced by her identity as a queer person of color, Yahdon Israel, book enthusiast, editor, writer, educator, father, founder of Literary Swag Book Club, Euphoria actor and boxer, Javon Walton and Alpha Diallo, a youth organizer of the Liberation Program at The Brotherhood Sister Sol who is advocating mental health support for students across NYC public schools, among others.

GAP “ICONS” CAMPAIGN

Gap’s Fall 2022 campaign highlights icons of our time who are creating positive change by simply being their truest self, shot and directed by renowned South African fashion photographer Koto Bolofo.

Starr cast actress Selma Blair, New York Times best-selling author and mother with multiple sclerosis advocating for a more inclusive world and UK performer Labrinth, a humanitarian connecting souls through the power of music to headline the campaign. Also featured are trailblazers and artists including model, organizer, and writer Cameron Russell, father, model and advocate for mental health Lucky Blue Smith and professional race car driver and first female Arab driver of NASCAR, Toni Breidinger.

GAP “AMERICAN DREAM” CAMPAIGN

The campaign features individuals shaping culture by embracing their own paths, shot and directed by fashion photographer Zoey Grossman and concepted by Len Peltier.

Starr cast legendary designer Dapper Dan whose subsequent DAP for GAP hoody sold out in moments, Poet Kai-Isaiah Jamal, non-binary and trans-visibility artist whose verse, ‘Dream of Freedom, Dream of Me’ is the spoken word soundtrack of the campaign, Georgie Badiel-Liberty a.k.a The Water Princess who has taken on the issue of the lack of potable drinking water in her West African homeland of Burkina Faso, Chito the Seattle-born, New York and Mexico City-based fine artist, among others.

GAP “INDIVIDUALS” CAMPAIGN

The campaign was concepted by Gap Global Creative Director, Len Peltier, directed by Christian Weber with portraits shot by renowned photographer Mark Seliger.

Starr cast Aurora James, creative director, designer and founder of the 15 Percent Pledge, the initiative urging major retailers to commit at least 15% of their shelf-space to Black-owned businesses. Gap joined the 15 Percent Pledge and has gone on to continue a longer partnership with James. Also cast was D'Jamel Young, trans advocate and community leader, Fine artist Jon Key, Director Chloé Zhao, Writer and curator Kimberly Drew, Actor Evan Mock, among others.
